EndoBarrier: A Diabetes Success Story

Two stone weight loss and a substantial reduction in medication in the first 6 months

Julie received the EndoBarrier Therapy as an NHS patient at Kings College Hospital as part of the REVISE study. Since the device was fitted, just 6 months ago, Julie has lost nearly two stone and her blood sugar levels are six to seven, similar to someone without diabetes. She has more than halved her insulin and doctors expect that to improve further. Julie said that she feels much more energetic and hopes to stay a healthy mum.

The REVISE study is currently running at four NHS centres with 20 remaining places on the trial, mainly in Glasgow. For more information on please contact revise.diabesity@nhs.net or 020 7188 8472.

The Daily Mail have spoken with Julie and the Consultant Gastroenterologist, Dr Bu Hayee, who performed the twenty minute procedure. Read the article here.
