Consensus meeting on the use of Fluorescence Imaging in Colorectal Surgery

January 2016, London

Some of the most highly regarded Colorectal Surgeons in the world gathered in London to discuss the latest in fluorescence imaging and the PINPOINT technology. The meeting was co-chaired by Professors Steven D Wexner of Cleveland Clinic, Florida and David Jayne from Leeds University and enabled all participants to speak on their knowledge of the technology and benefit from shared experiences.

Amongst the valuable and informative presentations of the day Frédéric Ris, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, University Hospital Geneva, Switzerland also spoke about the data he has collated:

The PINPOINT system from Novadaq Technologies uses simultaneous fluorescence and high definition white light imaging, providing the ability to visualise blood flow in vessels, tissues and organs throughout the body. This enables a precise visual assessment of blood flow in vessels aswell as the quality of tissue perfusion.

More information on the PINPOINT system can be found here, or contact us on 0844 412 0020.

Elemental Healthcare regularly run workshops on Fluorescence Imaging with PINPOINT, specifically discussing the detection of sentinel lymph nodes in Gynaecological Surgery and evaluating anastomotic perfusion in Colorectal Surgery. Live surgery is planned for each workshop to demonstrate the technology in action. We welcome you to join the conversation at our upcoming events*:
